When someone buys a ticket or wins an auction lot through a public event page but their email doesn’t match an existing contact, the record lands in Event match. Their ticket and confirmation already went out—this step links them to a contact and records the gift.
Event match appears only when the Events module is enabled.
What you’ll see
Each unmatched record shows when it happened, whether it’s a Ticket or an Auction win, the amount, the buyer’s name and email, and the event (or lot). Filter by event if you have several.
Reconciling a record
Select a registration
Choose Match on a row.
Pick the contact
Choose a suggested candidate (matched on email or name), or create a new contact — buyer details pre-fill the new record.
Optionally save the address
If an address was captured at purchase, tick to save it to the contact. It becomes primary only if the contact has no primary address yet.
Link & create gift
Choose Link & create gift. The gift is added to giving history and the registration is tied to the contact.
Skip this registration marks it resolved without creating a gift, and can’t be undone. The attendee keeps their ticket either way—skipping only affects your giving records.
