# Email marketing overview

> Build and send email campaigns, save reusable templates, organize your audiences, and track how every send performs.

**Marketing** in the sidebar is your email home. It brings together everything you need to reach supporters—design, audiences, sending, and results.

## How it fits together

A **campaign** is a single send. It uses a **template** (or content you build fresh) and goes to an audience—either a **list** or a **segment**. After it sends, **analytics** show how it did.

<Note>
  Before your first send, your organization needs a verified sending domain so emails come from your own address. An administrator sets this up under [Sending domains](/settings/sending-domains).
</Note>

<Tip>
  New to this? Start by [creating a template](/email/templates), build a [list or segment](/email/lists-and-segments), then [send your first campaign](/email/campaigns).
</Tip>
